Poet Susan Deer Cloud @ LMFL

Livingston Manor Free Library is hosting poet and Livingston Manor native, Susan Deer Cloud on Saturday, May 18 at 1pm.  Books will be available for purchase!  Please call (845) 439-5440 to signup.

Susan Deer Cloud (aka Susie Hauptfleisch), is a mixed lineage Catskill Indian who grew up in Livingston Manor where she often checked out and read books from its Free Library. A graduate of Binghamton University (B.A. & M.A. in Literature and Creative Writing) and Goddard College (MFA in Poetry), she is the recipient of many prestigious honors, including a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship, two New York State Foundation for the Arts Poetry Fellowships, and an Elizabeth George Foundation Grant. Published in numerous journals and anthologies, her most recent books are Car Stealer, Braiding Starlight, Fox Mountain, Hunger Moon and Before Language; her next book, The Way to Rainbow Mountain, is forthcoming this July.
