Effective April 19, 2021 Livingston Manor Free Library ended the quarantine of returned library materials. This means items will be processed and go back into circulation immediately after they are returned. Library staff will continue to disinfect all surfaces on a regular basis.
This change will improve the customer experience and streamline processes for library staff while maintaining a commitment to health and safety. LMFL will continue to review the available scientific data and recommendations from the appropriate authorities, adjusting procedures if new information emerges.
Fines will once again be assessed on late returns, and book drop items will be backdated one day if returned on a weekday and to the preceding Friday if returned on a weekend.
